Every photo from a modern camera or phone carries hidden metadata called EXIF — GPS coordinates, camera model, exposure settings, exact timestamp, and sometimes even the photographer's name. This information is invisible when you view the photo but easy for anyone to read with the right tool.

When you'll need this

You need an EXIF viewer when:

  • You're sharing photos publicly. Strip GPS data before posting to social media to avoid revealing your home or workplace location.
  • You're selling items online. Buyers don't need to see exactly where the item is stored.
  • You're a journalist or activist. Source protection requires stripping all metadata.
  • You're curious about your photos. See which lens you used, what aperture, what time the photo was taken.
  • You're organizing archives. EXIF dates help sort old photos chronologically.

Our tool will display all EXIF fields in a readable format and offer one-click stripping. Like everything else here, the file never leaves your browser.

Private by design

Like every other tool on pictoolkit, this one will process your images entirely in your browser. No server upload, no temporary storage, no privacy exposure. Your files stay on your device from start to finish.

While this tool is being built, you can use any of our live tools — compress, convert, resize, HEIC to JPG, and the JPG/PNG/WebP conversion family are all ready to use.
