Privacy policy

The short version: your files never leave your browser. The rest of this page explains what that means and how we handle the very little data we do see.

The summary

Plain English

All image processing happens on your device. We never upload, store, log, or share your images. We collect minimal anonymous analytics about page views (no IP linking, no personal data). We use no third-party trackers, advertising networks, or session recorders.

What happens to images you process

When you use any tool on pictoolkit.com, the image processing happens in your web browser. Specifically:

  • The browser reads your file from your computer's disk into memory.
  • Our JavaScript code, also running in your browser, manipulates that image data using standard web APIs (Canvas, WebAssembly).
  • The result is offered to you as a download.
  • When you close the tab, the in-memory data is discarded by the browser.

At no point does your image data leave your device. We have no servers that receive your images, no temporary storage of them, no logs of them. There is literally nothing for us to leak, share, or hand over.

You can verify this yourself. Open your browser's developer tools (right-click → Inspect → Network tab). Use any of our tools. You will not see your images being uploaded.

What we do collect

We collect aggregate website analytics through Google Analytics and serve ads through Google AdSense and Adsterra. Specifically:

  • Page views — which pages on pictoolkit.com get visited.
  • Browser and OS information — to know which browsers we need to support.
  • Approximate country and region — derived from your IP address.
  • Referrer — which site sent you to us, if any.
  • Device type and screen size — to improve responsive design.
  • Advertising identifiers — cookies and similar technologies used by Google AdSense and Adsterra to deliver and measure ads.

We do not collect:

  • The contents of any image you process — those never leave your browser.
  • Your name, email address, or any other identifying personal information (we don't have user accounts).
  • Information about which images you process or what settings you use within a tool.
  • Any data that would allow us to reconstruct what you did on the site beyond aggregate analytics.

Third-party services we use

  • Google Fonts — loads font files. Google may log the request but receives no personal data from us.
  • CDN libraries — for HEIC conversion we load heic2any from jsDelivr. Loading the file may register with their CDN logs but transmits nothing about your images.
  • Google Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate website traffic (page views, country-level location, device type, referrer). Google may set cookies on your device. We never send Google any data about the images you process — image processing happens entirely in your browser and never reaches our servers or any analytics service.
  • Google AdSense — we display ads served by Google AdSense to support the free tools. AdSense uses cookies and may collect data (IP address, device information, browsing behavior on this and other AdSense-enabled sites) to show personalized ads. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this and other sites on the internet.
  • Adsterra — we also use Adsterra as an alternate ad provider. Adsterra and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads.

Cookies and tracking

Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Adsterra place cookies on your device. These cookies are used to measure traffic, remember preferences, prevent fraud, and personalize ads.

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time:

You can also block cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not affect the image tools themselves — they don't require cookies to function.

What about my images?

None of the third-party services above ever receive your images. The images you drop into our tools are processed entirely in your browser using the Canvas API and WebAssembly. They never travel over the network to us, to Google, to Adsterra, or to anyone else. You can verify this by opening your browser's developer tools (Network tab) while using any tool — you will see no image uploads.

Children's privacy

pictoolkit is suitable for all ages. We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children. The website doesn't have user accounts or any feature that requires age verification.

Your rights

Because we don't collect personal data about you for the web tools, there's typically nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about your data, email contactus@pictoolkit.com.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material in this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date and post a note on the homepage. We have no plans to ever change the core promise (files never leave your browser) — if we ever did, it would be a major announcement, not a quiet edit.
